Resolution On The War In Ukraine And The Impact On European SME Of The EU-Sanctions Against Russia

We are deeply concerned about the Russian war on Ukraine and the related impacts on Europe and European SMEs.

We call the EU to take care for an adequate compensation and support of all those SMEs that will suffer from costs of the sanctions, and ensure an better access to alternative supply chain of raw materials, keeping control on energy prices and autonomy from Russian oil & gas.

European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME Expresses Deep Concern about the Invasion of Ukraine

Maurizio Casasco, president of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME and of the Italian SME Confederation CONFAPI declared yesterday: “What is happening in Ukraine in these hours arouses dismay and deep concern in European citizens and entrepreneurs. This conflict in the heart of Europe comes at a time when the terrible effects of the pandemic crisis have not yet been completely overcome and while small and medium-sized industries, the cornerstone of the continent’s economy, are working hard for recovery. We hope that diplomacy and common sense will prevail and that a ceasefire and a peaceful solution will be reached as soon as possible ”.

European SMEs are powerhouses of innovation. Who else can better and faster transform the clients’ needs and requests into new products, applications and services, and market them? They also bear the burden of testing new products on the market, with high risk to fail investments if a new product doesn’t deliver or is not liked.
