Mr Casasco succeeds Mr Mario Ohoven, who passed away last year. The new president recalled and honoured his predecessor’s memory, declaring that he wants to “collect and follow up on his tireless activity and his precious legacy. Ohoven, who was first of all and foremost a true friend of mine, has tirelessly supported the exceptional role of small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe. I intend to represent the interests of European SMEs with the same commitment. After the pandemic, small and medium-sized industries will be more central than ever in the continental production system, which promises to be increasingly technological and digital ”.

The Assembly also elected the board that will support Mr Casasco in his mandate, consisting of Markus Jerger (BVMW / Germany), Marina Kaas (EVEA / Estonia), Marlena Miasko (CCI Katowice / Poland), Stephan Blahut (ÖGV / Austria), Jorge Portugal (COTEC / Portugal), Theodor Grassos (EVBB / Greece, Germany), Walter Grupp (Secretary General of CEA-PME European Entrepreneurs)
