Mrs. Marina Kaas

Mrs Marina Kaas is the Vice-President of the national association of SMEs in Estonia – EVEA

Main areas of expertise: SME policy and SME support programmes, implementation of EU structural funds, preparation of funding applications.

Diploma in International economic relations (Moscow State Institute of International Relations, 1981), supplementary internships: University of Stockholm (SME policies, 1986) and Georgetown University, Washington D.C., USA (economic reforms and policies of transition economies, 1992).

Since 1986 Marina Kaas was continuously involved in international and domestic business development and support projects, economic reforms and establishment of SME-support institutions in Estonia, performed assessments of SME policies in Estonia, Sweden, Finland, USA, United Kingdom and Ukraine, worked in the US Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of her training in the Georgetown University.

She worked in public and NGO sector, since 1996 – independent entrepreneur and chairman of consulting companies Serioso Ltd. and Mannet Partners Baltics Ltd. Since June 2009 till April 2013 – President of the national association of SMEs in Estonia – EVEA. Before and after it – Vice-president of the same association.

In this ability M. Kaas is representing SMEs in various ministerial advisory and supervisory boards and committees, inter alia regarding the implementation of EU Structural funds in Estonia.

The largest confederation of voluntarily associated small and medium-sized companies in Europe.
