Theodor Grassos is Secretary General of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training. He has extensive experience both at EU level and in Greece, covering a period of over 17 years. He has contributed to the re‑engineering of OAED, focusing on apprenticeships and work‑based learning. He also has considerable experience of providing career counselling services within Greek active labour market policy (ALMP) schemes, including over 1 000 hours of individual and group counselling.
His national experience includes reorganising a number of public bodies, while he has been responsible for ex-ante and ongoing evaluation of the Greek Human Resources Development Operational Programmes, under the Ministry of Labour, for various MFFs, supporting the design and delivery of restructured and modernised ALMPs in Greece.
At EU level he has been working in multicultural environments for the past 15 years, both for DG DEVCO and on assignments with DG EAC and DG EMPL. Fluent in four languages, he has also worked with the Structural Reform Support Service, notably on an action plan on the development of the Greek pharma industry. So far, he has been responsible for over 60 projects of various sizes at national and EU level and is currently working with EU institutions and key umbrella organisations in the areas of employment, education and social inclusion.
