Maurizio Casasco graduated in medicine and obtained a further specialization in sports medicine. He is since Sept. 2022 Member of the Italian Parliament, elected as independent in the list of Forza Italia, an Italian Party member of the EPP.
He is President and CEO of companies delivering medical analytics, health care services and producing medical-technical devices.
He has been President of Confapi, the Italian Confederation of small and medium-sized private industries, from 2012 to end of 2022, and is since then the President Emeritus of Confapi.
He has been First Vice-President of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME from 2013 until 2021, at the side of Mr. Mario Ohoven, and lead the same confederation as President from March 2021 to June 2023. Since June 2023 he is Honorary President of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME.
He was a member of the European Economic and Social Committee from 2020 to 2022, as a member of the Employers group and of the bureau of INT Section.
He is also Vicepresident of INSME The International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises.
He has been President of the Italian Federation of sports medicine since 2005 and in 2017 he has elected President of the European Federation of Sports Medicine. He is also a member of the CONI board, the Italian IOC board.
He is a member of the Aspen Institute, as well a member of the Executive Board of the Italian Institute for international politics (ISPI) and of the board of Foro Italico University in Rome.
